How it all started About A Painted View

Ralph received a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from The Pennsylvania State University in 1977. His curriculum was oriented toward graduate studies in the medical field because of a strong interest in biology. Post graduation he decided some job experience could be an advantage with any future studies.

Ralph started as a lab technician with Cappel Laboratories, Cochranville PA, and in 1977 and advanced to become Production Supervisor by 1980. Feeling constrained by the ridged corporate structure, he and a friend set out to create a new better company. Jackson ImmunoResearch Laboratories Inc. was begun in 1982. This was a very big year since, in addition to starting the new venture; he married Donna L. Hood, to whom he remains married after 28 years.  A career in medicine was now long forgotten.

Jackson ImmunoResearch Labs is a manufacturer of antibody reagents (affinity-purified secondary antibodies) used extensively by scientists in various fields of basic scientific research. JIR is widely recognized as the leader in its field. As Vice President of Operations he is responsible for all day-to-day business activities at JIR.

Ralph has been active in the local YMCA, serving as a board member and elected as Township Auditor in his Southeast Pennsylvania home. Other activities central to his life typically involve something outdoors. In the summer, the vegetable garden and landscaping around the property are top priorities. When fall arrives hunting, primarily big game hunting, is the only activity on the agenda.
