In 1998 Ralph and Donna Hood came to Westcliffe to visit a business associate and, in a way, never left. They were instantly captivated by the big skies and purple painted mountains of Colorado, and thought about buying some land and building a vacation home from which to take in the spectacular view.
Donna had always had a keen interest in western Native American cultures and the tough little paint horses that were so integral to their way of life. Ralph, an avid hunter and outdoors man, was drawn by the plentiful game and stark beauty of the mountain valley.
While trying to settle on a design for the new house, The Hoods managed to build a state of the art working horse ranch, complete with all the amenities and personal touches that make any place feel like home. Although the house itself has yet to be built, the Hoods look forward to their frequent visits to the ranch and have become active members of the Westcliffe community. When they’re not enjoying their painted view, Ralph and Donna reside in Chester County Pennsylvania, and work in the biotechnology industry. |
